Yarn and Paper Weaving
Third Grade classes learned about weaving and created a weaving on a paper that they had to measure it with rulers to create the "loom"/ base for their weaving. They also connected their projects with the school wide cultural environment “Respect for All” by incorporating kind words of peace and love into their paper weaving artwork. Connections to Math, and Social Studies.

Yarn Weaving
Third Grade classes continued the concept of weaving by learning how to weave with yarn on a cardboard loom. They learned about textiles and used colorful yarn to create their own textile. The concept of under-over and over-under, continued with the use of yarn.

3D Installation/Chandelier
Third Grade students learned about the American artist Dale Chihuly and his glass installations which are exhibited all over the world. They created collaboratively two chandeliers with warm and cool colors by coloring their own spiral design using colored sharpies on transparency films.
