The young artists in Second Grade learned about seascapes, stained glass windows, blending with oil pastels, and about two artists, the American artist Drew Brophy and the Japanese artist Katsushika Hokusai. They created their own seascape with warm and cool colors by using oil pastels and colored sharpies.

Picasso Self-Portrait
Second Grade students learned about self-portraits, Cubism, and about the Spanish artist Pablo Picasso. They learned the proportions of the human head and its features and created their own self portrait like the artist by drawing the front and side view of their face simultaneously looking at mirrors.
