First Grade:The young artists in first grade will learn about mosaics and how to create their own with construction paper.
Second Grade: The young artists in second grade will finish their Picasso style self-portrait and will start learning about the artist Wayne Thiebau and his food paintings.
Third Grade: The young artists in third grade will finish painting their koi fish and they will start learning about composition.
Fourth Grade: The young artists in fourth grade will finish the Tree of Life and they will start learning about architecture.
Fifth Grade: The young artists in fifth grade will finish their grid self portrait and they will start learning about paper sculpture.
Art Club: The young artists in Art Club will be introduced to rock painting.

Kindergarten: Some of the Kindergarten classes will finish their "under the sea" collage and some will start a bird collage, connecting it with Math and Literature with the book "There is a bird on your head" by Mo Willems.
First Grade: Some of the first grade classes will create bubbles with oil pastels, connecting it with Science and Literature with the books "Bubble Bubble" by Mercer Mayer, and "The bubble factory" by Tommie DiPaola.
Second Grade: The young artists in second grade will continue their cubist self-portrait like the artist, Pablo Picasso.
Third Grade: The young artists in third grade will continue their koi fish . They are learning how to color and blend with colored pencils.
Fourth Grade: The young artists in fourth grade will continue their Tree of Life like the artist, Gustav Klimt. They will create geometric and organic shapes/symbols on their tree with colored sharpies.
Fifth Grade: The young artists in fifth grade will continue their grid self-portrait by using the value scale to color each box. They are using warm and cool colors for their coloring.
Art Club: Some young artists in the Art Club will finish painting the cropped animal of their choice and some will start creating a design on a rock.

Kindergarten: For the month of September, the young artists in Kindergarten classes will be assessed for their fine motor skills (pencil holding, writing, drawing) and will learn how to follow directions in the art class. Then they will learn about the first element of Art, the line.
For the month of October they will learn how to follow directions from the teacher as they draw an object or an animal. They will create an artwork by drawing a squirrel using different kind of lines.
First Grade: The young artists in First Grade will learn about Still Life, about collage, and about the French artist Paul Cezanne. They will create a seasonal Still Life collage of a bowl with fruits.
Second Grade: The young artists in Second Grade will learn about seascapes and about two artists, the American artist Drew Brophy and the Japanese artist Katsushika Hokusai. They will create their own seascape with warm and cool colors by using oil pastels.
Third Grade: The young artists in Third Grade will learn about Australia and its aboriginal art. They will also learn how important symbolism is in the Visual Arts. They will create their own aboriginal art out of aboriginal symbols.
Fourth Grade: The young artists in Fourth Grade will learn facts about insects, their life cycle, and the American artist Christopher Marley. They will create an artwork of an insect of their choice.
Fifth Grade: The young artists in Fifth Grade will learn about the human brain, specifically about the right side of the brain and its functions. They will draw seashells after they learn about observational drawing, about contour, and blind contour.
