lluminated Letters
Second grade students learned about the Dark Ages and the Artworks that the artists were creating in books instead of canvases because of war and conflicts between countries. The artists at that time drew most religious subjects in books and especially very decorative letters in the beginning of the chapters. They called them illuminated manuscripts because they used gold and silver to paint them. Our students created their own illuminated letter by drawing and designing their first initial. Connections to History.
