One Point Perspective Landscape
Fourth Grade students learned about spatial awareness by creating a landscape on perspective and specifically on one point perspective. They learned about the horizon line, the vanishing point and how all the diagonal lines meet on the vanishing point to give the illusion of a 3rd dimension on a 2nd dimension paper. They created their own landscape and colored it with colored pencils. Connections to Math.

Tesselations
Fourth Grade students learned about tesselations, the Dutch artist M.S. Escher and his artworks. They learned how to create one by drawing a line from corner to corner of one side of a square, cut and then tape it on the opposite side to create the tesselation. Then they used the new form to create a design of their choice. They had to also create a pattern with their design and coloring. Connections to Math.
